Well I started this last Tuesday and am finally getting it posted today!!!
Good Monday--I mean Tuesday afternoon
I just wanted to share with you that my little Emma Jo turned 4 on Saturday! It is very much bittersweet. I remember 4 years ago like it was yesterday. All I wanted to do was sit and hold her and look at her. I would love to still be able to do that, but she is a little lady now and much too busy for Mom to hold her for hours at a time. However, she is very much a Mommy's girl, we are BFF's. Everytime I hear those 3 little letters come out of her mouth, I smile the biggest smile. I am very thankful that she is healthy and growing, but sometimes it is so hard. Just to see how big and smart she is brings a tear to my eye. I know that these precious years will be so short!I started my weekend on Thursday at noon....only to go home and CLEAN!! Shala arrived in Wichita Falls later that evening. We sat up rather late just catching up "in person". We chat everyday, all day, but it is not the same.
Shala, Emma, and I started Friday with a trip to the SPA for Mani's and Pedi's. It was AWESOME. Emma was such a big girl, and I think she is HOOKED. haha She sat up there like a big girl enjoying every minute of the pampering. We then went on to Emma's favorite restaurant, Samurai of Tokyo, it was as good as always. We spent the afternoon doing what girls love to do--SHOPPING!! We finally went and picked up Easton from school. We decided that this was not the day that he would enjoy. He was excited to see all of us. It was neat for the kids to be able to show Shala their school! We finished the day with dinner at Parkway Grill.
Saturday was the BIG DAY. Emma Jo's birthday. We started the day with Daddy cooking Emma's favorite--PANCAKES. We all got ready for the day while the guests started arriving. Emma had her party at Jump for Joy. I think we had 15 kiddos there. Emma enjoyed EVERY moment of the attention--although she gets a bit shy when everyone is watching her! (Just like her Daddy)
Sunday we headed to the waterpark--Castaway Cove. Shala, No Name, Poppa, Kiki, Josh, Norva, Bobby, Brayden, and Cara joined us. Although the temps were in the triple digits....IT WAS A BLAST.
Monday----All I can say is rest and recuperation.
